Cody Boteler is the author of The Scan, the Banner's weekday newsletter. He's lived in Baltimore since 2017, when he graduated from Towson University. He lives in North Baltimore with his fiancée and their rescue dog, Haze. Prior to The Banner, Cody worked at The Baltimore Sun and Industry Dive. His work has also appeared in Baltimore Magazine, USA TODAY and others. If he's not working, Cody enjoys trying new restaurants or bars in Baltimore, working on home improvement projects, reading thick nonfiction books and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
